Trump testimony, 2 children delayed after Ivana’s death

Former President Donald Trump and two of his children had their questioning postponed on Friday as part of a civil investigation in New York into their business dealings, a delay that follows the death of Trump’s ex-wife Ivana .

The ex-president, his son Don Jr. and daughter Ivanka were due to be deposed — a term for extrajudicial questioning under oath — beginning Friday. But New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office said it agreed to postpone them due to Ivana Trump’s death on Thursday.

There are no new dates.

James alleges the former president’s company, the Trump Organization, inflated the value of skyscrapers, golf courses and other assets in order to obtain loans, insurance and other benefits.

Trump denied the allegations, saying it is common in the real estate industry to seek out the best appraisals. The Republican dismissed the investigation as part of a politically motivated “witch hunt” led by Democrats such as James.
