Trump downplays Ivanka testimony at Jan. 6 panel, denies saying ‘Hang Mike Pence’

Former President Trump slammed his own daughter Ivanka on Friday for her statement to the Jan. 6 committee that she doesn’t think the 2020 election was stolen.

The eldest Trump claimed his daughter, who also served as a senior White House adviser for all four years of his tenure, had “checked out” and was not involved in his efforts to spin off false allegations of fraud.

“Ivanka Trump was not involved in reviewing or considering the election results. She was long gone,” Trump wrote in a post on his new social media site.

Trump said Ivanka was all too respectful of Attorney General Bill Barr, a former staunch Trump ally who admitted there was no evidence of widespread fraud.

“(She) was just, in my opinion, trying to be respectful of Bill Barr and his job as Attorney General (he sucked!),” Trump added.

Trump unleashed the attack on all family members hours after Ivanka was shown on national television voluntarily testifying before the committee, which her father mocks as a “partisan witch hunt.”

Ivanka Trump told the panel she accepts Barr’s findings that President Joe Biden won the fair and square election over her father’s claims that the vote was somehow rigged .

“I respect Attorney General Barr, so I accepted what he was saying,” Ivanka Trump told the committee in previously taped testimony.

But Donald Trump continues to reject that claim, which dozens of courts have upheld.

“I never hesitated for a moment – follow the facts and the evidence,” Trump wrote. “The 2020 presidential election was rigged and stolen.”

The ex-president fired back at Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., for saying the panel had evidence that Trump backed efforts by his violent mob of supporters to kill Vice President Mike Pence.

However, Trump refrained from denying his claim that he reacted with approval when he heard reports that the crowd was chanting “Hang Mike Pence.”

“I NEVER said, or even thought to say, ‘Hang on Mike Pence,'” Trump wrote. “It’s either a story made up by someone looking to become a star, or FAKE NEWS!”

Trump also criticized the panel’s findings that he directly caused the storming of the Capitol, even though some of the attendees said they only attacked because Trump implored them to “fight like hell.” to stay in power.

“The so-called ‘Rush on the Capitol’ wasn’t caused by me, it was caused by a rigged and stolen election!” Trump wrote.
