Rep. Kat Cammack: ‘Nancy Pelosi hasn’t filled a gas tank in 20 years, let alone Joe Biden’

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) said Tuesday the way to fight rising inflation is to cut government spending.

When asked why the Biden administration kept referring to record gas prices as Putin’s price hike, Cammack replied, “Yeah, that’s 100% embarrassing. Do these people live in reality? Did they go out and refuel? Oh, I’m sorry, Nancy Pelosi hasn’t had a gas in 40 years, let alone Joe Biden.

“It’s easy to make ridiculous statements that are completely devoid of reality when you’re a liberal limo who basically rules from armored vehicle protection and has staff doing things for you, but here in the real world, Americans face $5,500 raise a year, and that’s the tax on inflation,” she told Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria Bartiromo.

“That’s what Americans are paying every day because of these disastrous policies, and don’t they see the stock market crash of yesterday? We are officially in a bear market. Cipher loss of over 200 billion over the weekend. I mean, everything is down, what are they saying, it’s embarrassing, and quite frankly, it’s getting dangerous,” the MP said.

Cammack warned that the more the federal government spends, the less the American people get to keep their own money.

“Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, 100% definition of insanity, but we especially know in Washington, DC, that common sense is not common, and listen, I know that i may only have a minor in economics but economics 101 the more the government spends the less we the people can keep in our pockets and last year we saw democrats spend more $7 trillion,” she said.

“Did they think there would be no consequences for spending out of control? It’s clear that when you escalate the supply chain crisis and the bad policies associated with this hyper-aggressive Green New Deal program pushed by the limo liberals, that’s clearly going to lead to a recession, and ordinary Americans – those whose left say they stand up and fight for the most part – are the hardest hit,” the MP warned.

“When I was on the way to the airport yesterday, gas was $5.19 in my hometown. Now, if you’re a senior on a fixed income, you have to make the decision between gas or groceries and now we see a reconciliation package that could potentially increase spending, which would only worsen the hits the lower and middle class are taking. It’s a disaster, especially since Republicans need to resume the House,” she said.

When asked how Republicans would tackle inflation if they won control of the House, Cammack said, “Well, that starts with cutting government spending. You can’t spend, spend and expect prices to go down and, in fact, that’s part of the reason we’re having so many challenges. We have a government that pays people not to work.

“They’re staying home and when the White House says, oh, people are better than ever, things are in place, nope, people’s COLA was wiped out in the first few months of this administration because of the inflation, and all these XYZ policies that have nothing to do with kitchen table issues, that’s what’s really driving the spending,” the MP said.

“We need to get back to basics, return programs to the states that have no constitutional authority under the federal government, stop unfunded mandates, and stop this crazy wish list of agenda items that cannot survive in a free market economy. We need to get back to basics and get back to kitchen table issues. This is how we win in November and rectify the situation at the next Congress,” she said.
