Just married actor Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan were caught up in controversy during their visit to Tirupathi Temple in Tirupathi.
After a fairy tale wedding in Mahabalipuram on Thursday, the couple headed to the hill temple of Tirupati to participate in Lord Venkateswara’s Kalyanatsavam. In the photos that have gone viral on the internet, Nayanthara was seen walking around the shrine premises with her shoes on.
According to Head of Security Vigilance of Tirumala Tirupati Council Desvasthanam Narasimha Kishore, wearing sandals inside the temple premises is strictly prohibited.
He said, “She (Nayanatara) was seen wandering around with shoes on the streets of Mada. Our security responded immediately. We even noticed that they did a photo shoot inside the temple premises, which again is forbidden. Private cameras are not permitted inside the holy shrine.”
Informing that they will send a legal notice to the actor soon, he added, “We are sending notices to Nayanatara. We also spoke to her and she wanted to post a video in the press apologizing to Lord Balaji, TTD and pilgrims. However, we will serve notices on him.”
Shivan meanwhile released a statement apologizing for the same.
The 37-year-old actor married Vignesh in an intimate ceremony at a private resort in Mahabalipuram. The ceremony took place in the presence of close friends and family. Only a few celebrities were invited.
