This page will continue to be updated.

After 100 days of brutal clashes, invading Russian forces control around 20% of Ukrainian territory, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Luxembourg parliament on Thursday. Pro-Kremlin media have reported that Russian forces are entering a new stage in their eastern assault, with plans to retake Sloviansk and the nearby city of Kramatorsk soon. The Donbass region of Ukraine

The Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine, known collectively as Donbass, has long been a flashpoint for the conflict between the two countries. Ukrainians rush to cross to neighboring countries

Fighting across the country has driven nearly 6 million people from Ukraine to neighboring countries, the UN refugee agency said. According to the Border Police authorities, the majority of Ukrainians are fleeing to Poland.

Men between the ages of 18 and 60 are not allowed to leave the country following President Volodymyr Zelensky’s call to take up arms and defend the country against Russian invaders.

After weeks of evacuation attempts, more than 125,000 Ukrainian civilians were able to use the humanitarian corridors to leave the bombed cities, according to a video address by Zelensky.

Russia had previously offered routes to Russia or Belarus, which were rejected by Ukraine. Ukrainian officials have accused Russian troops of repeatedly shelling food and medicine convoys trying to reach the besieged city of Mariupol.
