Indonesia Masters: Lakshya Sen moves to QF after beating Rasmus Gemke in straight sets

World number 9 Lakshya Sen broke into the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2022 after defeating Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke in back-to-back matches in Jakarta on Thursday. Playing on Court 2 against Gemke, Sen didn’t have too many problems except in the first set where the two players clashed before Sen stepped in and won the opener by 21-18.

In game two, Gemke took an 11-10 lead, playing fierce cross rallies before Sen recovered again and advanced to grab the game 21-18, 21-15 and advance to the quarters of Indonesia Masters 2022 final. Later today, PV Sindhu will face Gregoria Mariska Tungjung for a spot in the women’s singles quarter-finals. In doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa-Sumeeth Reddy will face second seeds Zheng Si Wei and Huang Ya Qiong of China for a spot in the last eight.
