India’s first K-Pop star! 18-year-old Shreya Lenka joins Korean band Blackswan

There is no doubt that the Korean world has taken the world by storm, be it their drama or their bands. Now a proud moment for all Indians and especially all die-hard K-pop fans as 18-year-old Indian girl Shreya Lenka has become the first Indian to become a K-pop star.

Shreya from Odisha has been chosen as one of the new members of the popular k-pop group “Blackswan”.

According to a report, Shreya Lenka, who goes by the name Sriya, was selected for the popular group during the final phase of training in Seoul, South Korea. Along with Lenka, Brazilian Gabriela Dalcin also became the newest member of the group. Both were selected after the audition conducted via YouTube.

Sharing the news with the world, the group’s management company wrote, “Sriya and Gabi have finally been selected as members of Blackswan after participating in the global audition program for the past 6 months. With their debut, we will be back with the new Blackswan.”

It comes after Hyeme, the oldest member of the group left the group in November 2020 after which auditions were conducted worldwide by their agency DR Music.

Rather than choosing one of them, the agency selected both. Taking the members number six, Sriya And Gabi will join group members Youngheun, Fatou, Judy and Leia.
