One of Britain’s most popular musicians, Ed Sheeran took to the stage on the final day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in London. Sheeran performed to thousands of fans outside Buckingham Palace to mark the end of four-day celebrations to honor Queen Elizabeth II and her 70-year reign in Britain.
The 31-year-old musician, who recently welcomed a second daughter with wife Cherry Seaborn, sang his hit ‘Perfect’ as footage of the Queen’s late husband Prince Philip flashed behind. The Duke of Edinburgh died in April 2021, days before his 100th birthday.
Sheeran also participated in a rendition of “God Save The Queen” outside the plaza at the end of the contest. The Queen made a surprise appearance on the palace balcony at the end of the pageant. The Queen had skipped a few public events in between due to mobility issues.

The Queen was joined on the balcony by Prince Charles and Camilla Parker, Duchess of Cornwall. Prince William’s grandson and his wife Kate Middleton have also joined the Queen with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Sheeran last played for the Queen in 2012 when she completed 60 years on the throne.

Four days of celebrations included the Trooping the Color Military Parade, Thanksgiving Service, Epsom Derby and Saturday’s Platinum Party Concert at the Palace where stars like Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, Queen + Adam Lambert, Nile Rodgers, Duran Duran, Craig David and Elton John played to a packed house.
