Abigail Spanberger gets permission from Nancy Pelosi and the ‘Squad’ to appear moderate

Virginia Republican House candidate Derrick Anderson says Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) is “getting permission from Nancy Pelosi and the ‘Squad’ to vote a different way just so she can try to support each other” and sound subdued.

Appearing on SiriusXM Breitbart News Saturdayhost Matthew Boyle pointed out that Spanberger votes for “every key item on Biden’s agenda.”

“I think she votes with [‘Squad’ member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC )] and Pelosi about 93% of the time,” Anderson said. “If you look at her voting record and you talk to people all over the district, it’s really interesting because she’s going to say one thing to their face, but then go vote in the completely opposite direction when she gets up. in Congress, which is completely hypocritical. »

Anderson, a former Green Beret who has completed six overseas tours, is running for Virginia’s Seventh Congressional District, currently represented by Spanberger.

Spanberger made headlines when audio played of her on the phone with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) scolding the left-wing “defund the police” movement.

Many in conservative circles thought it was a sham, giving Spanberger – who is vulnerable in his district – an opportunity to appear moderate to his party.

Anderson pointed to the Virginia Democrat’s record on the issue.

“Last January she spoke to Nancy Pelosi on the phone and she mentioned ‘enough with this policing movement funding’ but at no time in the year until January, February of this year – so she almost waited a year — did she visit one of the sheriff’s offices,” he explained. “In fact, in Culpeper County, central Virginia, I think it was February that was the first time she had been to one of the sheriff’s offices in almost a year. year. She received a PAC check from the AOC Police Political Action Committee. She voted with Nancy Pelosi and her legislation to try to defund the police.

Anderson also described Spanberger as “the definition of an opportunist” when he wants to sound moderate.

“If you move fast with Afghanistan, she waited until two days before the withdrawal, and the day that those 13 American servicemen were killed, and then and only then did she stand up and say whatever. it’s about the withdrawal to Afghanistan,” Anderson said. .

“What happened in Afghanistan, the botched pullout, watching billions of dollars in equipment fall into the hands of the Taliban, watching the Biden administration not even mention the 13 service members who were killed in his speech on the ‘State of the Union’, he continued. “You look at all these things that the Biden administration failed on with the pullout in Afghanistan.”

Anderson also pointed to Spanberger’s opportunism regarding Virginia’s recent gubernatorial race, which saw political outsider Glenn Youngkin beat former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) in a race that seemed to lead at the polls of parents concerned about what their children were going through. in schools.

“At no time during the entire campaign when Terry McAuliffe stood up and said, ‘Hey, you know, parents have no right and child rearing’, at no time when Glenn Youngkin got up and said, “Hey, Terry, guess what? Parents have a right to the education of their children,” at no time did Abigail Spanberger defend the parents or with Glenn Youngkin,” he explained. “Instead, she waited two days after the election, and then and only then she went to the New York Times and say, “Hey, by the way, Joe Biden, nobody elected you to be the next FDR, your policies are chaos.”

After that, Anderson added, Spanberger brought Biden to Culpeper County in the Seventh District, calling the move “absolutely crazy” because “if you move fast again, she goes back to the New York Times a few weeks later and said, “But I don’t necessarily totally agree with Joe Biden.” I mean, that’s literally the definition of an opportunist.

The Virginia Republican also pointed out that Democrats will try to use their January 6 prime-time television ratings until the November election to “hide all the problems they have across the country.”

“You don’t see Democrats or Joe Biden talking about gas. And when they do, they just tried to blame Putin,” he said. “They don’t talk about the gas doubling long before Russia invaded Ukraine, they don’t talk about it.”

Friday's report showed the consumer price index (CPI) jumped 8.6% from May 2021, beating analysts' estimates and rising 8.3% in the 12 months to in April. “I live in Spotsylvania County…when you pump your gas at the pump, it doesn’t matter if you’re Democrat, Republican, Independent, Moderate – guess what? The gas pump does not discriminate against you. You’re still paying over $5 a gallon, and the Democrats just don’t want to talk about it. »

Anderson also pointed out that due to the census redistricting, Spanberger no longer lives in the Seventh Congressional District, saying, “She doesn’t see the faces of people sitting at the gas pump.”

Immigration is another issue that Democrats are trying to run away from.

Explaining that the Biden administration’s “failed policies along the border have now made every county, city and state a border state,” he described how some Virginia Democrats may not understand how the crisis border affects their lives.

“In our district, especially, because you know, you get asked that question sometimes…I’ve met some Democrats along the way and they’ve been like, ‘Oh, well, what’s the deal on the border? We live in Virginia, Derrick, I don’t understand,” he said. “I’ll check…just in the last two weeks I got a call from a sheriff in one of our counties and Shenandoah — so in rural areas of our seventh congressional district. They had two huge fentanyl busts in Virginia — in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley — because the Biden administration’s failed policies along the border have now made every county, every city, and every state a state. border.

“The simple solution to what is happening at the border is to enforce the law,” he explained. “This is a comprehensive and simple approach to ensuring that our border is free of criminals, that there is no fentanyl, that there is no drug trafficking and of human beings. But they [Democrats] don’t even want to do that. They don’t even want to apply a basic, fundamental principle, “enforce the law as it is” at the border. »

But Anderson doesn’t think the January 6 Committee will be enough to distract the American people from the problems they face.

“I think our district, the Seventh Congressional District in Virginia, is going to be the tip of the spear for this, it’s going to be the barometer of the country,” he said of Republicans’ potential to sweep the House in november.

Anderson, who served in the Trump administration’s Office of National Drug Control Policy, also clerked for two federal judges after earning his law degree.

He will participate in a June 21 primary for the Republican nomination in Virginia’s seventh.
